The staff is usually very knowledgeable and helpful. I am going to buy a bike for my daughter from them and, once again, on price: I looked the same model up online and it is NOT cheaper to buy elsewhere from what I can tell. So why not give a good local shop (that employs local people) my business and have them set the bike up perfectly for my daughter? And I know I can bring it back in if anything needs adjusting, etc.
Haven't used their repair services, so no comment there.
Very nice and helpful staff. Let my grandkids ride outside and I really liked the bikes. A bit pricey though.
Good shop, ultimately overpriced. The staff are very knowledgable and friendly when shopping around. Unfortunately, it seems their inventory is frequently very overpriced- or at least they carry inventory that is much more expensive than cheaper & just as effective alternatives. Two examples I encountered: a bike tube at $14 & a bike light at $80. While both were quality, equally viable alternatives are available online at 1/3 the cost with a bit of digging. Unless I need an item right now, I no longer shop here.
Well-run, friendly bike shop. I get all of my road bike service done at the Newton store and they do good work. As for pricing comments/reviews, this is a bike shop and their prices are going to be higher than you see/can get online. It's a simple function of how their inventory and business work (like most every other local shop) so I would not ding them on that in a fair review. I don't buy too many accessories from them as I know I can get stuff online for cheaper but, once again, I don't think that they're trying to rip me off because of this discrepancy!
I had a flat tire. They changed a tube and gave it back in 5 minuets. And price is 20$. Thank you!
I like these guys a lot and get all my service done here. The folks at the the Comm. Ave shop are also very good, but it is easier to park on Needham St. The repair staff know what they are doing and are very conscientious. They have high standards too. I've seen some complaints from someone who comes in with an old rust-bucket to get it tuned up and they are shocked that the staff say it would take hundreds to get it in shape. Like I said, they have high standards for what is safe, reliable, and functional, and so if you really want just a minimally functional repair, you might take it elsewhere. But this is a very good place for very good work.
